FACEBOOK FACTS.

For an average website it may look like a spam attack but for Facebook it’s normal. Facebook is a social networking website which was launched in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates and fellow students, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
Within the eight years of its creation, Facebook has attracted almost 800 million active users with USA leading the way with 155 million people. With users of this enormity, one can begin to think that these mass statuses aren’t much of a big deal for Facebook. Valued at approximately 80 billion dollars, Facebook has hooked people from all parts of the globe, and has the second largest online traffic, being just behind Google.

This blizzard of status updates is not the only thing which is tolerated by Facebook’s servers. Every status update invites a storm of comments which according to statistics, rise to a tally of 10.2 million every 20 minutes on the website. The amount of interactive tools, like pages, groups, events and community pages, prove to be one of the major reasons why the world collectively spends 700 billion minutes on Facebook every month.
Facebook was originated with a mere file sharing service as one of its early functions, and has since then revolutionized the world of social networking and thrashed its rivals in terms of traffic, popularity, business and users. The traffic and users on Facebook are growing by the day thus; more people are utilizing the wide services it has to offer, allowing Facebook to achieve newer heights.

Nobel prize fact.


Nobel Prize medals, designed by Gustav Vigeland, contains three naked men at the back to symbolize International fraternization.

The Nobel Prize is without a doubt the most prestigious award given to people from all around the world who help culture new ideas and theories in science. It was named after Alfred Nobel and the medal was designed by a Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland. The front side of the medal has the face of Alfred Nobel whereas the back side depicts three naked men embracing one another forming a fraternal bond with the inscription, “Pro pace et fraternities gentium,” This means “For the peace and brotherhood of men.” On the medal, the naked guys hold their hands on each other shoulders which symbolize International fraternization.

It was not the only sculpture of Gustav which portrayed nudity, but the sculptures of Vigeland Sculpture Park in Oslo, Norway are also created by him in which he crafted 212 bronze and granite sculptures; all of them nude. Men, children and even women are depicted totally nude in that park. It was noted that Gustav was influenced by the ancient Renaissance artworks, because sculptures of that time were depicted naked.
Before the 1980s, the Nobel Prize medal was made up of 23 carat gold but newer Nobel Prize medals are 18 carat gold plated with 24 carat gold. Despite of this change in the substance of the medal, the design and the engraving on the medal remains the same to the core which may look pretty cool to queer men.

The Matrix Reloaded,Most Expensive Hollywood Fight Scene.

The Matrix Reloaded is an American sci-fi movie which was released in 2003. The movie is the second instalment of Matrix Trilogy. The film was a success at the box office but it had to be a super hit movie to recoup the cash splashed on its exuberant graphics. Without any doubt, the movie stood matchless in special effects at its time but to produce such eye popping effects, the budget had to lucrative too.
It took over 100 million dollars on the complete graphics of the movie which included a 17 minute battle scene which cost over 40 million dollars alone! For the Burly Brawl scene, certain sections of the fights used digital versions of Neo and Smith. The VFX team used Sony HDR-900 High Definition cameras to scan their images to generate digital sequences and Smith clones. For live action, sequences were shot in 18 second intervals to change camera angles and because Neo has more than 250 moves to perform. Whereas a striking feature of The Matrix was the use of 300-fps slow-motion shots, the filmmakers opted for a broader range of speeds on the Reloaded version.
Being so costly, the movie had its fair share of risks. If it were to be only mildly successful, it wouldn’t have been able to recoup the money spent on the graphics, thus being a huge loss. To everyone’s relief, the Matrix Reloaded earned an excess of $735,000,000 taking the number one spot for the best R-rated movie in history.aa

A true berry's description is a flesh fruit with many seeds inside. Strawberries have the seeds on the outside and a hollow inside and are botanically called an "accessory fruit". 1. You have a finite amount of will power each day because to exercise will power you need energy in the form of oxygen and glucose That’s why it’s harder to say ‘no’ when you are tired or not feeling yourself.
2. A thought is a physical pathway in the brain. The more you have that thought the more you groove that path and the easier it is to have it again. That’s why having the thought “Why do I suck?” is never a great idea.
3. Speaking of which, you have approximately 70,000 thoughts per day, although many will be the same ones looping round and round on your grooved cranial highway.
So make sure you don’t think, “Why do I suck?” 50,000 times a day, or suck ye shall.
4. Even if you consider yourself a left-brained person, your brain will still switch over to the right side every 90 to 120 minutes and then back again.
That’s why even left-brained people can have times of the day when they are more creative and right-brained people can sometimes get their taxes in order.
5. Reading out loud to kids accelerates their brain development.
6. Reframing negative events in a positive light literally rewires your brain and can make you a happier person, as can regular meditation.
7. The brain is approximately 75% water, but you should never drink it.
8. Your brain only weighs about 3lbs yet the greedy bastard uses between 20% and 25% of your energy supplies each day.

15. Even though we say the amygdala regulates danger, the cerebellum motor control, and the limbic system emotions etc, this is somewhat misleading as no part operates independently and all need other parts of the brain to get their job done.
16. Your peripheral vision improves at night which is why pilots are taught to use their peripheral vision when looking for traffic.

Windows 8 will mark 'the end' of the 

Microsoft OS : Marc Benioff



 Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 will mark "the end" of the computer industry's dominant OS due to increasing competition and choice sparked by alternatives, Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff predicted Friday.
Windows 8 is a catalyst or "gambit" for CIOs, forcing them to say "am I going to Windows 8, or am I going to something else," Benioff said during a question-and-answer session at Salesforce.com's Cloudforce event in New York, which was webcast.
Years ago, "a common phrase was, 'the Windows 7 upgrade cycle,'" Benioff added. "You're not going to hear about the Windows 8 upgrade cycle. I'm not saying that as a big, aggressive statement against Microsoft, that's just the reality of today's environment."
Windows has become "irrelevant," being displaced by next-generation LTE wireless networks that will "disintermediate" the need for WANs and LANs, along with "all of these great services that are available right off the cloud."
"Now, we're not completely there," Benioff added. "Everything is not heterogenous client, everything is not LTE, everything is not cloud ... But we're going to this great new place in our industry."
A Microsoft representative declined to comment on Benioff's remarks.
In an effort to validate his claims, Benioff referred to a conversation he had with a global CIO recently, whom he did not name.
"Her goal is to get rid of all of the PCs," Benioff said. "She doesn't see a demand curve from users for PCs." Instead, the CIO is hoping to move to a BYOD (bring-your-own-device) approach, Benioff said. Next-generation mobile devices have "forced CIOs to make changes already," he added.
Of course, Benioff is hardly the only person predicting that Windows 8 may be in trouble. His claim also serves Salesforce.com well, since its software is cloud-delivered to multiple platforms and devices, not installed in a customer's data center and run solely on PCs.
Also Friday, Benioff touched upon Salesforce.com's ongoing attempt to become "the customer company," in the sense of a vendor that can provide tools and services for connecting companies with their customers. That's meant a primary focus on sales, marketing and collaboration software, but Salesforce.com recently took a small step into human resources applications with the introduction of Work.com for employee performance management.
It's also formed partnerships with cloud ERP (enterprise-resource-planning) vendors such as Workday. But on Friday, Benioff maintained that Salesforce.com isn't keen on going further into back-office processes for now. "We integrate with the back-office providers like SAP and Oracle but we want to be that dominant front-office provider, and that's the piece we're focused on," he said.
Salesforce.com has also been presenting itself as a vendor that can help companies become "social enterprises," with many aspects of the business becoming infused with a social-networking.

Google Dart :NEW PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE


Let's begin with the good news. Google's Dart is a modern, full-featured tool designed by grabbing the best features of Java, JavaScript, and C. The development team is obviously large, and the samples show they have the ambition and talent to create a system that will power desktop, mobile, and browser applications in the future. The tools are real, and the path to gaining widespread acceptance is one that Google can travel. The platform works.
There really isn't any obvious bad news, but there is plenty of cold, hard reality that appears after one plays with the code for a bit. The documentation is upbeat and highlights how Dart is fixing the pet peeves of the Dart creators -- peeves that many of us probably share. But the Dart developers are not superhumans, and they did not find new breakthroughs to taming the way that software turns into a jungle of vines. At best, it's not even clear that they did more than remove some hard corners and smooth over some rough edges. Their fixes work for them, but like all fixes in laws and software, they're bound to create new problems down the road.
Not all of the moves will have this effect. Almost everyone I know who writes JavaScript for the Web also uses a library like jQuery to smooth out the differences among browsers. I'm sure every one of them also wonders why someone hasn't made jQuery part of the official JavaScript spec or permanently baked it into the browser.
The developers of Dart heard these cries and added most of the goodness from these libraries to Dart. They've gotten rid of the lengthy names like getElementsByTagName and replaced them with a catch-all function called query that takes jQuery-like parameters to find what you want.
They've also smoothed out the internal data structures describing the DOM. The fields of each DOM element now use standard data structures. That means you don't need to remember method calls like hasChildNodes and firstChild. You just need to know that there's a field "node" that responds to the standard collection methods. These seem like perfectly obvious solutions and I'm thrilled with them.

Code names can take on all manner of themes–like Apple’s cat theme for OSX–but Google opted to go with a sugary sweet spin on code naming for their mobile operating system Android.
The first version had no code name but by the time it worked its way into public consumption it was sporting a delicious code name: Cupcake. From there on Android code names have named after things sweet treats: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo (Frozen yogurt), Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and IceCreamSandwich.
Although naming software after treats is rather uncommon, there is one other notable code name series with a sweet spin. The code names assigned to sugar on a stick–a version of Fedora Spin Live designed to support the sugar learning platform , an educational suite originally designed for the One Laptop Per Child initiative–are fruit-based like Strawberry, Blueberry, and Pineapple.

The New C Standard Explored 

C and C++ are members of the same family of languages. The evolutionary boldness of C++ removes some of the marketplace pressure on C; people who are continually pushing for innovation are naturally drawn to the C++ development process. Each language had a coherent original design (by Dennis Ritchie and Bjarne Stroustrup, respectively), followed by successive refinement in a very competitive marketplace of ideas. Both languages share an extreme concern for performance, with the slogan "don't leave space for a more-efficient systems-programming language underneath our language (C or C++)." However, it's unfair to complain that the original designs assigned too little importance to cybersecurity; both languages pre-date the beginnings of concern for security. But in recent years, as the marketplace has started to emphasize cybersecurity, C and C++ have been responding in several ways.

The C11 Annex K Functions


I'll start my tour of Annex K with the fopen_s function. The main innovation is that files are opened with exclusive (also known as non-shared) access. Furthermore, if the mode string doesn't begin with u (such as with code being updated from the older fopen ), then to the extent that the underlying system supports it, the file gets a file permission that prevents other users on the system from accessing the file.
In this article, I'll sequentially enumerate the security benefits of these _s functions. The new semantics illustrate the pattern of "least privilege." This "exclusive" mode was previously available in the Posix open() function, but the ISO standard for C doesn't standardize system-dependent, low-level I/O.

fopen() safety


If a file is opened with x as the last character in the mode argument, and the requested filename is already in use, the fopen_s function fails (as opposed to truncating the existing file, which is presumably already being used by someone).

Fixing tmpnam()


This function illustrates another security pattern in C11: "In the calling sequence of the function, every pointer through which the function might modify an array is immediately followed by the number of elements which the function is permitted to modify."

ISSAC NEWTON
Isaac Newton was so devoted to science that he stuck a needle behind his eye to test a hypothesis!


Newton thought that color is infused by pressure on the eye. To prove this, in an optical experiment, Newton stuck a darning needle around the side of his eye until it poked the backside. 
He calmly noted that he saw white, dark, and colored circles when he stirred the needle in his eye. Although it is not known what he concluded from his experiment, Newton argued that light is composed of particles. 
Science later adopted a wave theory of light and color, because of what some experiments found. Newton had some vindication on his theory, though. With the discovery of quantum mechanics, light is now thought to be both a wave and a particle.

Google has developed a driverless car!


This new technology sounds as if it is right out of a science fiction movie, and that’s because it’s not far off. Over the past several years Google engineers and scientists have been working tirelessly at Stanford Laboratories to develop a technology that will change the way we live in the upcoming decades: the Google Car. 

This car is completely driverless. It combines information from Goggle Street View with artificial intelligence software that communicates with a sensor on top of the car, which in turn speaks to the wheels and steering wheel to drive the car without any human interference. So far the car has clocked over 175,000 miles and had zero accidents.

The New Native Languages

To many developers, the recent trend of reversion to true compiled languages implies a re-engagement with C and C++, or for denizens of smaller niches, a renewed embrace for Pascal, Fortran, Ada, and other languages of the pre-2000 era. But for some programmers, this native trend, which is most heavily touted by Microsoft as part of its re-engagement for C++, leaves a certain sense of dissatisfaction. C and C++ look a lot like they did in 1995. And even though C11 and C++11 have added useful features that we have been carefully chronicling in Dr. Dobb's, the languages can have the feel of a past era onto which contemporary elements have been grafted.

                              For developers who yearn for something more modern, languages that reflect current concepts of parallelism, immutability, large libraries, extended data types, and the like there are interesting alternatives; especially since many of them key off the basic C syntax, which makes them comparatively easy to adopt. Chief among these are D (from Digital Mars), Go (from Google), Rust (from Mozilla), and Vala (from Gnome). All four languages are available free and all but D are completely open source. (D is almost completely open source). Looking at these languages provides interesting insights in language design and shows in some ways what C and C++ are lacking.

Ever wonder why keys are in the order they’re in on the keyboard?


The keyboard we most commonly use today is called the “qwerty” keyboard for obvious reasons, but did you ever wonder why the letters are in that order? It’s actually because the original keyboards would jam if letters that were next to each other were pressed in too rapid succession.

In 1874 Christopher Sholes, who developed the layout, was aiming to slow typists down by putting the most common letters in the most hard to reach places, and thus reduce jamming. Although modern technology has no issue with jamming, the keyboard stuck and is still the one we use today!
The first computer worm was just a test to check to see how big the INTERNET was.it brought down 10% of internet.
                         
It had huge unintended consequences, but Robert Morris actually just wanted to know how big the Internet really was when he launched the so-called "Morris Worm." Robert Morris was a student in Cornell when he wrote and launched the virus on November 2, 1988. Although he didn't have nefarious intentions with the virus, he made a critical mistake in the code. The result was that the worm crashed about 10% of the computers plugged into the Internet.
 The worm took advantage of a number of security vulnerabilities in order to infiltrate the computers. Once it had done that, it would query the computer to see if there was a copy of it already running on that particular computer. If the computer said yes, then the worm would stop and not run again. At least that's how it was supposed to work. 
That was his big mistake. If anyone realized that the worm existed, they could've easily programmed their computer to answer YES to the worm's question, and stopped it that way. To make it harder, Morris programmed the worm to run even if the answer was yes, 1 out of 7 times.  As a result, the worm started running multiple times on many computers, and brought down about 10% of the computers running the Internet, because there were too many copies of it running. 
As a result, Morris was the first person to ever be convicted under the United States Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and sentenced to 3 years of probation, 400 hours of community service and a $10,000 fine.

The creators of Adidas and Puma were brothers and Nazis.


  Adolf "Adi" Dassler started and Rudolph "Rudi" Dassler started a line of sports shoes in Germany in 1924. Rudi was drafted to fight in WWII and was captured by Allied forces. American soldiers suspected him of being a member of the SS (Hitler's paramilitary force), and Rudi was convinced that his brother, Adi, had ratted him out.Due to irreconcilable differences between the two brothers the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory fell apart in 1948. Adi went on to start his own line of shoes, "Adidas" (based on his name, Adi Dassler). Rudi started his own line of shoes, "Puma", named after the German word for "Panther".
